Reminders About COVID-19 Contacts
It has been more than 18 months since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and there are plenty of scam artists trying to take advantage of Railroad Medicare beneficiaries. These scammers are smart, so stay safe and pay attention to these reminders from Palmetto GBA about COVID-19 vaccines and tests.
- COVID-19 vaccines are free. Patients do not pay for the vaccine or for someone to administer the vaccine.
- There are Medicare-approved lab tests to detect of COVID-19. These are also free. Medicare patients pay nothing for COVID-19 testing.
- You should not be offered or accept offers of money to receive the COVID-19 vaccine
- Medicare will never call you about getting the vaccine. You may get telephone calls from others, such as a CVS pharmacy, about your vaccine, but no one from Medicare will ever call you on the phone about COVID-19 tests or vaccines. Do not give your personal information to anyone who calls you on the phone claiming to be from Medicare. If they say they are calling from Medicare, hang up.

When you call us, we encourage you to share as much information as possible with us so that we can assist law enforcement, should that be necessary.
