The Encounter Data System (EDS) Companion Guide contains information to assist Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) and other entities in the submission of encounter data. The EDS Companion Guide is under development and the information in this version reflects current decisions and will be modified on a regular basis. All versions of the EDS Companion Guide are identified by a version number which is located in the version control log on the last page of the document.
